Montessori Teacher - Infant/Toddler

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR II – Toddler Teacher

The Town of Windsor is looking for a dynamic, energetic Montessori Toddler Teacher to fill a full-time position. The successful candidate will lead an Infant Toddler Montessori environment for children ages 6 weeks to 24 months; work with assistants, interns, and contractual employees; implement and plan a Montessori curriculum, conduct daily observations, complete report cards, conduct parent teacher conferences, order materials and supplies as needed; prepare daily reports to families; attend monthly staff meetings; participate in seminars and training sessions as assigned; and, maintain timely and accurate work records.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of Associates degree in early childhood education, Bachelor’s degree preferred early childhood education or related field with 1 year experience; or, any combination of education and/or experience required
  • Must have good knowledge of principles and practices of early childhood education and development
  • AMS Montessori Certification or completion of an accredited Montessori training program preferred. Candidates who have completed AMS training but need the practicum experience will be considered
  • Completion of 12 ECE credits is required within the first year of employment
  • Successful completion of the Town of Windsor’s pre-employment background and drug screen – including testing for marijuana

Compensation and Schedule:

  • Annual salary range is $38,000 to $45,000 depending on experience and qualifications
  • Town employees enjoy a comprehensive benefit package, including but not limited to, health, dental, vision and life insurance, tuition reimbursement, short and long term disability, and a defined contribution retirement plan
  • The hours are 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday thru Friday - 52 weeks per year
